Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective The Mask figure Review

  Mezco Toyz
The Mask

If you're a fan of Dark Horse comics, at some point you probably saw an ad or read issues of The Mask.  Don't get this Mask confused with the 1994 Jim Carrey movie adaption of The Mask, as his look is unique. The comic is what brought this character to life way before the movie, and most would agree was even more entertaining than the movie.  Dark Horse comics really liked to give us edgy stuff, and The Mask falls right inline with the other comics they did during their run. Let's take a closer look at Mezco Toyz take on the Dark Horse Comic Mask figure.

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Exclusive Rumble Society Local 112 Union Gomez Review

Mezco Toyz Rumble Society 112 Union Gomez

So far 2022 has been a little lighter then usual for Mezco Toyz release's but we have still received some nice figures.  The latest in the Rumble Society line of original Mezco figures is the 112 Union Gomez. Mezco released Union Gomez without any insight he was coming and there was a lot of opinions on the figure and overall Mezco releases in 2022.  Collectors are concerned we are waiting on so many older preorders, while the Rumble Society figures keep coming out. This isn't a issue to me, but can understand if some collectors are frustrated with the delays. Union Gomez is another unique original character that has lots of appeal and accessories but seems slightly bland at the same time.  I'm really excited to finally have this figure in hand and give you my opinion on how well Mezco did with this version of Gomez.

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Exclusive Batman vs Two-Face 2 Pack Review

Mezco Toyz Batman vs Two Face 2 Pack

Mezco does it again with another Batman and Two Face! Over the past few years many Mezco customers feel there's been to much focus on Batman, but I'm not one of those collectors and I really enjoy what this 2-pack comes with and the throwback feel to the figures.  If you've followed the Batman comics for a long time then you are going to enjoy this set.  The artwork on the boxes is excellent and really matches what Mezco has put together in figure form. Let's take a closer look at this 2-pack and everything it comes with.

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective DC KGBeast Figure Review

Mezco Toyz DC KGBeast Figure Review

Finally we are getting some of the DC villain characters after all of the Batman releases from Mezco. Listen, I love Batman and I have almost every version Mezco has put out, but I've been anxiously waiting for some villains.  I've been excited to get KGBeast from the day Mezco made their announcement he was apart of their lineup.  Once I had him in hand I was overly impressed with the amount of detail and quality that was put into the figure.  I honestly don't think there's much more that could of been added to the figure.  Now let's take a closer look at KGBeast and see what makes this a great release from Mezco.

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Black Bolt and Lockjaw Review

Mezco Toyz Black Bolt and Lockjaw Review

I have to admit, I'm not a huge Inhumans fan with the story line and characters but I wasn't going to miss out on getting Lockjaw! Black Bolt is the King of the Inhumans with many assorted powers mostly based off of his insanely loud voice.  The King can do damage to anything even with a few soft spoken words, this is power that we can only dream of.  Lockjaw is the protector of the Inhumans family, and has the ability to teleport across time and space and is a key part of the Inhumans. This set took a little longer than I expected to released, but once in hand it's awesome and Lockjaw is the crown jewel in this set.  Mezco keeps hitting us with great release after great release, its hard for all of us to keep up!

HIYA Toys Exquisite Mini's Predators Movie Figures Review

HIYA Toys Exquisite Predators Movie Figures

I remember the first time I saw the trailer for "Predators" and it had me split. I really liked the plot of the movie and the idea of the Predators taking unique humans and hunting them on their own planet.  Upon watching the movie it was a little deflating with the choice of actors, and some of the human vs Predator battles, but it did give us fresh new designs of "Super" Predators.  So the movie wasn't the best but in the end the new designs caught people's attention and over the years a love has grown for the designs in the movie. I was very pleased to see HIYA was going to take on the challenge of this group and they did a great job executing.

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective MDX Blade Review

Mezco Toyz MDX Blade Review
The first version of Blade from Mezco has been considered one of their best releases to date.  We were lucky enough to get this MDX version of Blade that includes some unique pieces the original Blade did not come with.  He is outfitted with a new tactical vest as well as the same handgun leg harness that came with the Toy Fair exclusive Blade. I really like both of these additions along with two different head sculpts compared to the standard release. Let's take a closer look at Blade's details and dig into the pros and cons of Mezco's latest release.

Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Rumble Society Baron Bends Review

Mezco Toyz Rumble Society
Baron Bends
Baron Bends is the latest Rumble Society release from Mezco Toyz, an original designed under water Aqua-Knight. Baron is an ancient warlord from the cosmic realm, who searches time and space on a quest with no endgame in sight. An interesting background for an original character, and I give Mezco credit for creating characters outside the DC/Marvel realm. I was able to check him out in person at ToyFair, and really enjoyed their setup and what I saw. Let's take a closer look at the Baron Bends bundle, and how it stands up to other Mezco releases.

Mezco Toyz One:12 Moon Knight Review

Mezco Toyz Moon Knight
I'm not a huge fan of the Moon Knight character, but I will say he's unique and his costume is sharp.  Marc Spector "Moon Knight" starts of when he's left to die in the desert.  He is discovered and saved by local people, where he was taken to a tomb and placed at the foot of a statue of the moon god.  He is later pronounced dead, but suddenly coming back to life saying Khonshu had brought him back to life! Let's take a closer look at the Superhero in all white, and see if he can withstand the Cheetos dust.

Mezco Toyz One:12 18" King Kong Skull Island Figure Review

Mezco Toyz 18" King Kong
The latest release from Mezco Toyz is their 18" King Kong from the movie Kong: Skull Island.  I originally was able to see this figure at ToyFair in 2018 and was really impressed with what I saw. My opinion of the Kong: Skull Island movie, it was pretty  entertaining but it also had its flaws.  I loved that they used the Vietnam era for the movie and John C. Reilly was pretty hysterical as well.  In the end, we all wanted to see Kong and what the latest adaption of the monster would look like.  He was the highlight of the movie, and in my opinion he lived  up to the hype.  Let's take a closer look at this monster of a figure, and see how well it stands up with Mezco's regular 1:12 releases.

Mezco Toyz One:12 Cable Figure Review

Mezco Toyz Cable
Cable was sent to the future to save his life when he was infected with a future virus.  Sounds like a great opening to an excellent movie right?  Cable was one of my favorite characters to read about in my 1990's comic binge I did as a kid. I was so attracted to the weapons in comics, and Cable always carried large, unique, futuristic guns that just jumped off the page.  When Mezco first announced this figure, I was thrilled to see they gave Cable his proper arsenal.  Let's take a closer look at how well Mezco did executing a major character to so many people in the 90's.

Mezco Toyz John Stewart Green Lantern Review

Mezco Toyz
John Stewart Green Lantern Review
As a young boy in the middle of the 80's I can remember one of my first Kenner Super Powers figures was Green Lantern.  The Super Powers line from the 80's is really why I love all of the characters to this day!  Whether its John Stewart or Hal Jordan, I was always following the extremely unique DC character.  John Stewart is a man of many traits, a US Marine Vet, intergalactic guardian and a true hero. Let's take a closer look at John Stewart and Mezco's execution of the Green Lantern.

Mezco Toyz One:12 Logan Wolverine Review

Mezco Toyz Logan Wolverine
Logan... is there really a better human weapon out there?  Listen, Wolverine is one of the best characters ever created by Marvel.  I know, you can disagree as I'm truly a Punisher fan, but Logan deserves your respect.  This version is after the X-Men, as he continues his endless journey to help people in need while fighting the demons inside of him.  Not long ago Mezco released Old Man Logan which was a great figure, but I really prefer this version even more.  Let's take a closer look at Logan, and see how well Mezco did creating this awesome character!

Mezco Toyz One:12 Diabolik Figure Review

Mezco Toyz Diabolik
The Diabolik comic is a character from Italian Comics that started out in the early 1960's.  You may not remember him from over the years depending on where you lived growing up.  It's actually an expansive series that released over 800 volumes and has sold over 100 million copies! Diabolik is a thief that will do anything including murder in order to cash in on his missions.  He's a master of disguise that will target criminals and steal anything with significant value. Diabolik does carry a soft side and will not hurt police or innocent people during his missions of mischief.  Let's take a closer look and see how Mezco did with this "Robin Hood" type master thief.

Mezco Toyz One:12 Marvel Blade Figure Review

Mezco Toyz Blade
Blade, otherwise known as Eric Brooks, was only a newborn when his mother was attacked by the doctor delivering the baby (Vampire Deacon Frost) and killed her.  In doing so he passed enzymes in his blood into the infant that would eventually become Blade. Blade would go on realizing his powers and fighting all kinds of vampires through time...one of them being Dracula.  Let's see if Mezco's version lives up to the hype of the notorious DAY WALKER!

Mezco Toyz 2019 Toy Fair Press Event

Mezco Toyz 2019 Toy Fair Press Event
This past weekend we had the pleasure of going to the 2019 New York Toy Fair. This was our fifth year in a row covering the event. Every year the Mezco Toyz press event is the highlight of Toy Fair. Not only do they pump out an exorbitant amount of new characters, but nobody takes better care of their guests than Mezco. Mezco gave out goody bags to all of the press in attendance. They included TWO new One:12 figures and other items as well. The new figures were Mezco's mascot, Gomez, and a Toy Fair exclusive Blade. More on those later!

Mezco Toyz One:12 Justice League Tactical Suit Batman Figure Review

Mezco Toyz Justice League Tactical Suit Batman
Batman is a character that over the years dons a ton of different suits and looks. I generally don't find any that  I don't like that much.  I am not a huge fan of the Justice League movie or Ben Affleck as Batman but this figure is really sharp and detailed.  The suit is designed for combat with super power foes, as Batman only has his skills and wit to defeat the evil he faces. I really love Batman and Mezco really does a great job giving us every single one of his looks!

Mezco Toyz Exclusive One:12 Popeye - Deluxe Sailor Edition Review

Mezco Toyz Deluxe Edition Popeye
I'm Popeye the Sailor Man. I'm Popeye the Sailor Man. I'm strong to the finich, cause I eats me spinach. I'm Popeye the Sailor Man.
Mezco already hit a home run with the original release of Popeye. It was an 'out of the box' character and the figure instantly became a favorite amongst collectors. I have heard many people go as far as to say it is THE figure of 2018.

With that being said Mezco had a lot to live up to, but they did not disappoint.

Mezco Toyz One:12 Iron Man Figure Review

Mezco Toyz One:12 Iron Man
Iron Man is easily one of Marvel's most popular characters at this given moment in time. Much of that is due to the Iron Man and Avengers films. Tony Stark is one cocky mofo, but he has the tech and the suit to back it up. Iron Man was a highly anticipated figure for us. He is unique in that the One:12 line prides itself on its soft goods, but this figure doesn't have any soft goods. With that said, they make up for that by making an extremely sturdy action made with metal parts, light up features, and lots of accessories.

Mezco Toyz One:12 Popeye Figure Review

Mezco Toyz Popeye
Popeye the Sailor Man was one of the first cartoons I was introduced to as a child. I loved the goofiness of the show and how spinach gave him muscles to take on his challenges. First introduced in 1929, Popeye has become one of the most recognized cartoon characters of all time. I really liked the other characters such as Olive Oyl and Bluto as well. They really added to Popeye's character. Now we have an excellent figure from Mezco that a lot of people are calling the figure of the year.  Let's take a closer look at this sailor and see what we think about him.
