Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Popeye & Bluto: Stormy Seas Ahead Deluxe Boxed Set

Mezco Toyz Bluto and Popeye Set Review

The Popeye story is a character that goes way back, so far back your parents know who the characters are.  He's a sailor who loves spinach always battling against Bluto is his arch-rival. Mezco has released two previous versions of Popeye about a year ago, but many were hoping we would eventually get a Bluto to go with him and Mezco hooked it up!  The box set is pretty much an ultimate set for both characters, coming with lots of iconic accessories and the unique look all Popeye fans love and adore. I was excited when I first saw the announcement of the set, and it's even better in hand. Mezco always brings the heat and this deluxe set nails these two characters perfectly.

Mezco Toyz One:12 Harley Quinn Review

  Mezco Toyz Harley Quinn Review

It's Harley Quinn, this sweet little girl that likes long walks and lolly pops.  If that were Harley I think she would be a much different character, maybe even a woman who pursues Bruce Wayne.  Harley is a bad, bad girl with lots of crazy thoughts going through her head and shes's in love with everyone's favorite whack job the Joker.  The first Harley I owned was the Mezco movie version and I thought she was a very cool figure with great head sculpts. This Harley, is the one that we saw in the comics or even some animated series where she just likes to be a wild girl. I was excited to get her in hand and when I opened her up, she really met my expectations.  Let's take a closer look at this very kind and lovely woman we call Harley Quinn.

Mezco Toyz 2019 SDCC Moon Knight Crescent Edition Review

Mezco Toyz
SDCC Moon Knight Crescent Edition
There are so many unique characters in the Marvel universe and Moon Knight is no exception.  He always comes with an asterisk saying "He's Marvel's version of Batman" but I don't see him that way. I will say I prefer Batman's suit over Moon Knight's suit and probably prefer Batman's back story over his.  During a full moon, Moon Knight is at his strongest with super speed, invisibility and allowing Marc Spector to do his thing.

Mezco Toyz Netflix Punisher Review

Mezco Toyz
Netflix Punisher
The Netflix Punisher show received a lot of hype over the 2 seasons it was on Netflix.  As the show was coming together I was disappointed they chose Jon Bernthal for the role of the Punisher.  I am a huge fan of the Punisher but will admit I haven't watched any of this show as I am not a fan of Bernthal.  Even with these feelings, I'm still going to give a fair review of the figure Mezco has given us.

HIYA Toys Thinkgeek Exclusive Harley Quinn

Hiya Toys ThinkGeek Harley Quinn
I think Harley is the baddest girl of the entire bunch.  She's a fun character to play with in Injustice 2 with lots of great moves.  Hiya's adaption of Harley is pretty spot on from what we see in Injustice.  This particular figure is the alternate purple costume from the game. Let's take a closer look at Harley and what Hiya toys has to offer!

HIYA Toys Thinkgeek Exclusive Superman

Hiya Toys ThinkGeek Superman
Up in the sky, its a bird, its a plane, no its SUPERMAN!  Superman's suit is more of a modern look from the Injustice 2 video game.  Hiya does a really good job of capturing this costumes from the game and it produces a sharp look.  I actually don't play with Superman in Injustice 2 that much, as I'm really a huge Batman fan from the game.  Let's take a closer look at another great figure from Hiya toys and see how it turned out!

HIYA Toys Red Hood Figure Review

Hiya Toys Red Hood
Red Hood is an awesome character from the Batman and DC Universe.  He's very popular in many comic series as well as in figure form.  A good amount of DC characters are based on super powers, but Red Hood likes his weapons and taking people out.  He has a lot of moves in Injustice 2 that are hard to beat, but he can be a little hard to master.  I was really excited to review this figure by Hiya toys as he comes with some great accessories!

HIYA Toys Swamp Thing Figure Review

Hiya Toys Swamp Thing
Is the Swamp Thing a human or a monster?  He's a MONSTER, that looks like a mix of trees, branches and maybe a little bit of the Hulk.  I read some of the comics as a kid, watched the movie as a teen and always thought he was a weird character.  This version of Swamp Thing is based off of the video game version in Injustice2 that I've played and I'm actually pretty good with him!

I think Harley is the baddest girl of the entire bunch.  She's a fun character to play with in Injustice 2 with lots of great moves.  Hiya's adaption of Harley is pretty spot on from what we see in Injustice.  This particular figure is the classic costume which I actually like the best. Mezco Toyz One:12 Evil Dead 2 Ash Williams Figure Review

Mezco Toyz Evil Dead 2 Ash Williams
It's 1987 and Evil Dead had already made its mark a few years earlier with Bruce Campbell playing Ash Williams, but this time it started out as a vacation.  After a demon poses as his girlfriend, Linda, he is forced to cut her head off and bury her in the woods. Pretty cool start to a movie, right? As the movie progresses characters come along, but the majority of the movie is plain nuts.  It's a great cult classic, and if you haven't seen it yet you should watch all three movies (Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness).  Now it's time to take a closer look at Ash and see how well Mezco did translating him into figure form.

NECA TOYS Cinemachines Series 1 Review

NECA Cinemachines
Finally, we are getting highly detailed versions of great vehicles from iconic action movies of the past.  Who else but NECA would be the ones to come through for all of us fans!  The first series of Cinemachines is based off the movies ALIEN and ALIENS. This series brings us four different vehicles.  When we spoke to Randy Falk last summer I asked about the possibility of doing large vehicles for Aliens, Terminator, etc since they had already done the Predator Blade Fighter.  He responded with it being a possibility but in a smaller scale.  I wasn't too sure how I felt about the idea of vehicles in a smaller scale, but I was certainly curious about what NECA could do with it.

Fast forward to this February when we were able to meet with Randy at NY Toy Fair. That is when we actually got to hold these awesome vehicles in hand.   Yes, we all saw the pictures of what was to come, but pictures just don't do these justice. Once I had the Dropship in my hand and shot out the APC I knew they were cooler than any type of line like this before.  The detail of each piece was evident, and the weight/build of each was equally impressive.  Let's take a closer look at these amazing pieces so you can decide where you want to display them!

NECA TOYS Ultimate Sarah Connor Review

NECA Toys Ultimate Sarah Connor

Sarah Connor, the mother of the free world.  Sarah may be the best female action character of all time, even better than Lt. Ripley.  OK, you can frown and shout at the screen after reading that sentence, but it's my honest opinion.  The evolution of Sarah through Terminator 1 and 2 really shows how strong and relentless she is.  Terminator 2 has four main characters, and all of them bring their own unique back story to the movie.  Sarah shows she can break out of a prison, outsmart guards and even kick some ass when needed.  Her character is of equal importance to that of the T-800, and to see the two of them work together and the evolution of Sarah throughout the movie is awesome.  By the time Sarah has met up with her friends and geared up to take out Miles Dyson and Cyberdyne, she is one bad ass bitch! This figure created by NECA captures her from that moment on in the movie, fighting for what she believes is freedom and to change the future.  One of my favorite lines… "There's no fate but what we make for ourselves."
