Hiya toys started me off with their DC Injustice 2 figures about a year ago when I did my first review on them.  My initial take was they are great figures for their scale and pretty well made.  There were some slight paint issues with the figures but overall I gave them a good rating. Fast forward to the next set of Injustice 2 figures Hiya just released and they really upped the ante. The second series comes with Darkseid, Aquaman, Bane and Reverse Flash, which ends up being a very nice release.  Reviewing their first wave of figures was a lot of fun, but I couldn't wait to see what the larger figures looked like out of the box.  Hiya is quickly becoming a hot company, let's see if they maintained that hot streak with this new wave release.

Starting as a young boy, I've had an obsession with skeletons whether in some scary room of the dead or warriors fighting them in old school movies.  Skeleton toys were a big thing in the 80's when I was growing up but we never had a true skeleton to play with.  Enter Sega and the game Golden Axe, where you could enjoy beating up on some very cool skeletons.  So many cartoons in the 80's had some kind of skeleton bad guy or weird scene with skeletons in the background or rising from the dead.  Golden Axe became that game where I could play out fighting these creepy skeleton warriors. Fast forward to today and Storm is releasing figures from the game including the skeletons! Enough about my love for them, let's take a closer look to see how well Storm did at pulling off highly articulated skeletons.

I really enjoy the products that Storm has released over the past year or so.  They are producing so many great lines I knew I couldn't collect them all so I chose Mortal Kombat.  I currently have all of the MK figures they have produced, but I passed on the bloody versions. In steps Raiden, a beloved character going all the way back to the first Mortal Kombat video game.  I've been anxiously waiting to get my hands on him, and when he finally arrived he didn't disappoint. Let's take a closer look at Raiden and if Storm collectibles really continues to make an excellent Mortal Kombat line.

I think Harley is the baddest girl of the entire bunch.  She's a fun character to play with in Injustice 2 with lots of great moves.  Hiya's adaption of Harley is pretty spot on from what we see in Injustice.  This particular figure is the alternate purple costume from the game. NECA ALIEN 3 Video Game Dog Review

We received the video game City Hunter and the video game Dog Alien at the same time. I have to say it is hard for me to pick a favorite. They compliment each other extremely well. If you buy one then you have to buy the other! 

The original Dog Alien that came out a few months back was already my favorite Xenomorph that NECA had come out with up to this point (excluding the Queen, of course). This one just kicks it up a notch in a fun way. That is what is so fun about the retro video game line...we get to see these awesome paint apps that just make the figures pop! The figure is half blue and half brown so you can find all kinds of different ways to pose this guy when playing with or photographing him. This is strictly my personal opinion, but I LOVE the blue on this figure. Pictures are cool and all and fun to take, but you really need to get this in your hands to truly appreciate it. 

Any one who is familiar with the first Dog Alien knows how ridiculously poseable and articulated this guy is. Whether you want to stretch him out to nearly 11" tall or ball him up like he is ready to pounce you will find no shortage of fun poses. Your imagination is the limit.

Any one who was a fan of either the NES or SEGA versions of the ALIEN 3 game will want to have this. I have heard a few people say "I dunno, man. I'm not really into the Aliens." Well, my response to that is if you are going to buy one Alien then make it this one. You will not be disappointed, and most likely, you will find yourself buying more Xeno's in the future. Also, any collector of  the retro video game line HAS to have this to complete the collection. We all know that this movie sucked, but I can assure that the figure kicks ass!

The figure comes in the same sick packaging that the other retro video game figures come with. They no longer come with the shrink wrap (which is good because it lets you see the figure in the store) and comes with a flap with a velcro tab to keep it closed. The only accessory he comes with is the stand, but you don't anything more than that with this guy. The stand helps you find those perfect poses for this beast.

There is really only so much you can say about this guy. One of the funnest parts of collecting these to us is taking them out and letting our creative sides come out by photographing them. I can write all the words in the world about a figure, but the pictures speak for themselves. Just take a look below and you will see how sick this figure is. We like to open our figures here at CobraShadowJoes. I would encourage you all to do the same and free them...and ENJOY them! Photographing them is a not only fun, but a great stress reliever. As I said earlier, the possibilities are endless...you can pretty much do whatever you can imagine.

NECA's 16 BIT Predator 2 City Hunter Review

I want to start this off with saying; NECA has truly tapped into a perfect line of vintage, video game action figures.  The line has really taken off since its start, and Randy and team from NECA toys keeps making these amazing figures.  The paint schemes to classic figures we already love and respect really adds pop to any NECA collector's collection.  Let's start breaking down one of my favorite Predators of all time, the CITY HUNTER!

First thing I noticed when I received this figure is the awesome box that comes with all of the video game line, but also the highlights and paint work of this beautiful predator.  The picture on the front of the box is one I will always have etched in my mind, as I think the City Hunter standing on a huge building with Bill Paxton's skull and spine is how the predator should be shown!  A lot of people dislike what the 2^nd Predator movie brought to the table, but I loved his design and approach to being a killer in a city.  Unfortunately, we will never get a Danny Glover Harrigan figure but that’s a story for another day.

Packaging

The packaging is the classic video game look, and Randy has also mentioned these figures will no longer come in the shrink wrap.  The City Hunter looks great MIB, and has a picture of the classic trophy wall and also a nice background for the figure. 

Figure/Accessories

I have all 5 versions now of the iconic City Hunter.  This version is a very smooth moving, bending, gripping figure.  So you are asking… what the hell does he mean by that?  NECA has truly mastered the Predator mold, and the weapons and accessories that come with them.  I would love to sit here and say the arm doesn't bend well, or the legs are stiff, but this figure is clean and poses great with no issues.  He also comes with his classic disc, skull and spine, and his staff.  All parts and pieces are really done well and make this an awesome figure to have!

Overall

I love this figure, and not just because of my love for the character itself, but the look it gives you that's right out of the video game.  I think any collector is always looking for unique items and this one fits right into that category.  I believe Randy Falk and team at NECA work hard every day at creating things that we all wanted from our childhood and beyond.  It's truly awesome what NECA does on a daily basis and Randy Falk is probably the second most interesting person to talk to on twitter, behind us of course.  Seriously though, this is a great figure and a must buy if you love video games, predators, or just a true work of art.
