I have never been a horror movie fan. My imagination takes what I see and runs with it which can be creepy at times.  I have never collected horror figures because I always prefer figures with weapons for movie or comic based characters.  NECA TOYS makes a lot of horror stuff, but since I am not a horror fan I never owned any figures from their horror line.  That brings us to Mezco which despite my lack of affinity for horror is causing me to slowly build up a detailed horror line that I don't mind using precious display space on.  I already have Micheal Myers and the Evil Dead 2 Ash figure so I am glad I was able to grab this Jason.  Let's discuss Jason from this casual horror fan's perspective on how well Mezco did with the figure.

The Predator is the latest installment in the Predator movie franchise that premiered a few weeks ago. Tons of varied opinions have come from the movie but after seeing it myself the Fugitive Predator ended up looking great on screen and was probably the highlight of the movie.  NECA Toys got a first hand look while in development and recently released their figure version of the Fugitive.

The Batman Beyond series ran about 20 years ago, and it was really never my favorite version of him.  That being said, Mezco does an excellent job of translating the character into figure form.  The storyline revolves around Terry McGinnis taking over the role of Batman with an older Bruce Wayne serving as a mentor to him. I found this to be an interesting character for Mezco to produce, but the look and feel turned out great.

Vintage TMNT Haul from Half Shell Toys

Everyone who follows us knows that we each have very diverse toy collections. With the said, we each still have our all-time favorites. Steve's favorite always has been and will be the original G.I. JOE: ARAH line from Hasbro. My personal favorite is the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle line by Playmates.

As a kid I had so many of the figures and the playsets. I spent countless hours pretending to battle Shredder and the Foot Clan with my TMNT figures on the Technodrome and Sewer Lair. A few years back I was digging in the attic of my parents house and came across some of my original TMNT collection. Lots of it was missing and most weapons and accessories were long gone. Even then, finding those figures that I cherished as a kid was like finding gold. I scooped them up and displayed them in a room at my house. Around this time, my interest in collecting was already starting to grow due to Steve's toy collection. From this point on I decided that I wanted to complete my figures and rebuild the collection I had as a kid. Since then I have not only built it up to that point, but have surpassed what I had. A collector's job is never finished though.

I recently went on a little bit of a vintage TMNT splurge. First, Steve hooked me up with an excellent deal on some great pieces such as complete set of the Storage Shell Turtles, Toon Shredder, and many  more! A big thanks to him as he has helped me tremendously with building my collection up! 

In the past I have purchased a few much needed pieces for my collection from Tim at Half Shell Toys. Each time I have gone through him I have been extremely satisfied. This transaction was a few months in the making as both of us have been extremely busy with the daily grind of life! In the end, I bought three complete vehicles (Turtlecopter, Pogocopter, and Knucklehead) as well as fifteen complete figures from Tim.

1980's Super Powers Collection

Super Powers:  Old vs New

Hey everyone. I hope all is well in the toy collecting world! We wanted to talk about the 1980's Super Powers line and what figures we all had as kids.  Also, we wanted to compare the newer line that pays homage to these wonderful, classic figures! I think everyone, including me, had a Superman figure when we were growing up and most likely a Batman figure as well.  I had them both along with Aquaman, Firestorm, Green Lantern, Dr Fate, Darkseid, Wonder Woman and a few others.  Starting to bring back those wonderful 80's memories yet?

I have now collected 26 figures from this line. There are some others I just haven't bought yet because I am waiting for the right price.  Below is a picture from my vintage collection of the classic figures from the DC Comics line! Who was your favorite from this line when you were growing up?

I have also started to collect the DC Universe figures from the past few years because I think they do the old figures justice!  My most recent figure was the Darkseid Build a Figure who is a beast and towers over all of them.  I believe the new line is very close to the original figures just with better detail. 

So based off your experience and the pictures which line would you rather own?  Would you prefer the classic smaller figures or the larger, more detailed figures recently made?

GI JOE Dragonfly

The GI JOE DRAGONFLY!!

The Dragonfly is one of the coolest toy helicopters ever made. It's very similar to a real Twin Cobra helicopter. I have 6 of mine showing in these pics with 2 of them having red missle sets like in the cartoon. 

There are a few easily broke/bent parts on these so it's taken a little time to build up my squad. My brother received one for Xmas when I was young and I loved playing with it. I currently don't have the tan version but hope to get one soon.

V1 Destro and Rare Red Jackal Variant

Today I wanted to talk about Destro and his Rare Variant Red Jackal. Red Jackal is from the UK and has an awesome symbol on his chest as you can see. A buddy of mine was asking about RARE figures and thought this was a cool one.

Destro is a great character and this figure truly does him justice. What do you think about this figure? You rarely see this figure at Flea Markets or on eBay but you can find him. Where do you rate Destro and this figure? Let me know if you have a figure in mind you would like me to show and write about. Enjoy the pics!!!

Cobra Commander V1 "Mickey Mouse"

Today I wanted to talk about the "Mickey Mouse" Cobra Commander. I actually have 2 of these along with 12 of the regular Cobra Commanders. I always loved this figure as a kid but never saw the Mickey Mouse until a few years back.

If you look at the pics I've taken you can see the difference in the symbols. This is a great figure and pretty rare. I love the color blue used for him and the red details on his suit. The commander is such a cool character and can't wait to see him on the big screen next week even though he doesn't look like this.

Check out this Double Stamped Crimson Guard I found at Walmart. 
It's unopened and not a fake. These usually get thrown out and never make it out of the factory!!
