Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Spider-Man Figure Review

Mezco Toyz Spider-Man
Peter Parker, the little orphan boy who was bit by a spider and gained his powers, is no longer a little skinny boy. He is now seeking out his true meaning. He is now realizing what his true calling is.  Shortly after being bitten, he tested his skills against the wrestler Crusher Hogan and defeats him in crazy Spider-Man fashion.  After the match, his caretaker Uncle Ben is murdered putting Peter into a frenzy to fight crime his own way.  Peter was ready to face the criminals but didn't realize all the real enemies he would soon match up against.

Pros
  • Two classic head portraits
    • Classic small eyes
    • Large eyes head
  • Slender and highly articulated body
  • Nice variation of web effects
  • Magnetic clip for unique poses
Cons
  • The uniform looks like it could be a little frail depending on how many different poses he's being put in.

Figure
I will start this off by saying Spider-Man has never been my favorite character, and the enemies he fights may actually be cooler than him. It's amazing how a character you are on the fence about can be made by Mezco and bring out a love for the figure.  Right away it was obvious he had so much posing capability. I couldn't put him down or stop thinking of places to put/pose him.

Spider-Man has excellent articulation, and the skin tight outfit doesn't hinder him at all.  He comes with different kinds and sizes of web effects that really allow you to get the look you desire from him. I will also say both head sculpts are excellent, but I give the slight edge to the larger eyes head.  Another excellent detail Mezco provides is a magnetic waist clip that allows you to place him pretty much anywhere you have a piece of metal.  I hope to be able to make use of this in my detolf most likely using another magnet on the outside of the glass.

Overall
At this point I am investing in almost every Mezco One:12 figure they are creating.  I would've been very upset if I decided to pass on this character just for the fact at how well he was executed from head to toe by Mezco. I'm actually happy to add some variance to my normal characters loaded up with guns taking on the bad guys.

At the end of all of this I believe Mezco has made the best Spider-Man figure to date in this scale.  I don't see this figure having issues with any of the stitching or plastic peeling like we saw with the Mile Morales.  Out of all the Spider-Man figures Mezco is making I think this is their best for the character. If you are looking to pick him up he is still available to be purchased at a reasonable price on eBay.
