Mezco Toyz One:12 A Nightmare on Elm Street: Freddy Krueger Review

Mezco Toyz
A Nightmare on Elm Street: Freddy Krueger
Horror is not my favorite genre of movie, but I do love myself a good horror movie action figure. I loved the One:12 Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees figures so it really isn't any surprise that I love the One:12 Freddy Krueger as well. He comes with a body that has great articulation which is the reason I think this figure is even better than the Michael Myers.

Pros
  • 4 head sculpts
  • 6 hands (including 2 claws and severed finger hand)
  • Fedora
  • Classic striped sweater
  • Trash can lid
Cons
  • Light on accessories compared to other figures in the One:12 line
Figure
While Michael Myers has always been my favorite horror baddie I have always had a soft spot for Freddy. He's mischievous and funny yet still manages to be very scary at the same time. First, all the head sculpts on this figure look amazing. I am pleased with each one of these faces. Secondly, the body is highly articulated and can hold some very dynamic poses. Even though I think this figure is a little light on the accessories I think the head sculpts and body help make up for that. You can come up with all kinds of poses due to the hat, heads, and gloves.
Overall
As always this figure is made with high quality materials. His clothing is very nice and the sweater and pants especially have some really great weathering to them. All horror fans will be happy to have this in their collection. His accessories are pretty specific for him so you won't really be able to use his as fodder which I know many people like to do. However, what he does come with makes him a very versatile figure due to the many looks you can use with him. This figure is a winner in my book and I look forward to more horror figures in the future.
