The latest release from Mezco Toyz is their 18" King Kong from the movie Kong: Skull Island.  I originally was able to see this figure at ToyFair in 2018 and was really impressed with what I saw. My opinion of the Kong: Skull Island movie, it was pretty  entertaining but it also had its flaws.  I loved that they used the Vietnam era for the movie and John C. Reilly was pretty hysterical as well.  In the end, we all wanted to see Kong and what the latest adaption of the monster would look like.  He was the highlight of the movie, and in my opinion he lived  up to the hype.  Let's take a closer look at this monster of a figure, and see how well it stands up with Mezco's regular 1:12 releases.

How do you start a review for such an iconic character from my childhood...by explaining how this is the best Punisher figure ever made!  Mezco has released three different versions of the Punisher with much debate around which version is the best.  I currently own all three versions, and I believe they are unique in their own way depending on the time period you may have read the Punisher comics.  What separates the Classic version from the other two is it brings us that early, original Punisher look.  Let's jump into the review and see why this figure punishes all of the others!

Shazam, also known as Captain Marvel is a character first created in 1939!  Shazam actually comes from acronym of 6 Greek "immortal elders"- Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury. Shazam is a boy named Billy Batson who by speaking the word Shazam transforms into a costume adult with superhuman strength, speed, flight, and other capabilities. Shazam is truly one of our first comic book super hero's, lets see how Mezco did translating that into a One:12 figure!

The leader of the Mutants gang is nasty, lethal, and brutal. He doesn't act like a civilized human being. The Mutant Leader actually beats Batman in hand to hand combat during their first encounter.  It's hard to imagine someone taking it to Batman (even an older Batman), and actually walking away from the fight.  Although there is more to the story and of course Batman gets his revenge!   There are many versions out there of Captain America. Even though the classic look has always been my favorite I really enjoy the modern version of him as well.  The colors on the modern version are darker, and he doesn't have the wings coming out of his helmet. Instead, they are painted on the side.  There are slight variances between the classic and modern styles. Which one you prefer all depends on what your taste is! Let's take a closer look at Mezco's modern Captain America.

Around this time last year images of the vast expansion of Mezco's One:12 Collective line were showing up.  Many great figures were shown, but their versions of The Punisher really caught my attention.  I am a huge Punisher fan and until recently there hasn't been a good toy version made of him.  After receiving the final version of the Punisher I realize Mezco was the company to finally make a great version of him!
