New York Toy Fair 2016

For a host of reasons Steve and I thought that we would not be able to attend New York Toy Fair this year. However, we figured it costs us nothing to register so let's do that at the very least. Well, in the end we were able to make it up to New York City on Saturday the 13th for Toy Fair.

Toy Fair just happened to be on one of the coldest days of the year. The last few years we had snow for Toy Fair, but this year we battled bitter cold and brutal winds. We took the train up from our neck of the woods of NJ up to Penn Station. Once we got there we took a look at the line for taxis and said "f that", manned up, and walked our asses to the Javits Center.

     The Pacific Rim line may be coming to a close after 2 1/2 years, but NECA has made sure that we receive Ultimate versions from the icons of the movie.  The Ultimate Striker is a very nice upgrade from the first version NECA released.  The Striker is the strongest and fastest of all the Jaegers, and he really knows how to brawl. The Ultimate version comes with a lot of updates that make it worth buying even if you have the original.

        NECA, creator of all kinds of awesome figures and so much more, has added another nice piece to their collection.  The NECA Dynamic Figure Stand isn't your run of the mill stand.  This stand allows not only dynamic poses for ALL of your action figures, but it can also stick to glass/mirror for a unique look.  We were lucky enough to receive one of these brand new stands and try it out on our NECA figures as well as some other figures from our collections.  Let's just say the results were not only great, but we had a ton of fun playing with it. I was pulling figures out left and right to try on the stand. So what exactly are you getting with this dynamic stand?  Let's take a look below.

If you haven't purchased NECA's AVP Predator line yet, you will want to after you read this review.  I think most people have the same opinion about the movie...the Predators looked like they were on steroids, and the actors were just plain boring.  The movie is truly about the Alien vs Predator battles throughout, but they were hard to follow and not exactly "non rubber suit looking".  I'd sit here and write about the entire movie premise, but at this point all that matters is the amazing figures NECA has created from a PG-13 Alien/Predator movie. I decided for this series, I would review all three Predators together to compare and contrast their differences.

Following The Trooper, The Mummy, and the Piece of Mind Eddies, NECA has brought back the iconic mascot of Iron Maiden again for another kick ass figure. This time NECA brings us the 2 Minutes to Midnight retro format Eddie! Besides my Snake Plissken and VGA Freddy this is now my third retro format figure, and I continue to like them more and more with each one I buy.
