Storm Collectibles Mortal Kombat Raiden Review

 Storm Collectibles Mortal Kombat Raiden

I really enjoy the products that Storm has released over the past year or so.  They are producing so many great lines I knew I couldn't collect them all so I chose Mortal Kombat.  I currently have all of the MK figures they have produced, but I passed on the bloody versions. In steps Raiden, a beloved character going all the way back to the first Mortal Kombat video game.  I've been anxiously waiting to get my hands on him, and when he finally arrived he didn't disappoint. Let's take a closer look at Raiden and if Storm collectibles really continues to make an excellent Mortal Kombat line.

Pros
  • Three Head sculpts
  • Excellent lightning effects
  • Head exploding effect
  • Hat is removable
  • Extra set of hand pegs
Cons
  • No cons, after closely reviewing Raiden he's an excellent figure
Figure
Raiden has excellent details and articulation that capture his unique Mortal Kombat look.  There have been some people that have received theirs with some minor QC issues.  I've seen some scratched paint around his neck, and his black belt pops off right out of the package.  I was fortunate that my figure is in excellent shape with none of these issues.  Raiden has excellent paint applications and details, with three unique face expressions. Storm always provides excellent accessories and the exploding head is by far the coolest one from Storm yet!
All of the Storm figures are sturdy and allow for some unique posing even on one leg!  All of his joints and articulation are well done, sturdy with no loose areas on the figure.  One of the new things Storm has been doing is including an extra set of wrist pegs just in case one of them break.  Customers started to request this and Storm listened, and its a huge plus for their figures. I hate using stands for my figures, and thankfully the Mortal Kombat figures are made so well stands are not needed.
Overall
I really enjoy all of the Ninja's from Mortal Kombat, but I also really loved using Raiden when playing Mortal Kombat.  Storm included everything you need to pull off all of his moves from the game and then some! The Storm MK line is probably my favorite line of collectibles I love to photograph. All of there figures just pop and are great for all kinds of angles and set pieces.  Storm continues to impress me and there is no stopping me from collecting the entire line. I have the new SDCC Scorpion on the way in September and pre-ordered Mutaro which should be here early 2021.  Storm is the sweet spot for pricing and great collectibles and if you're a photographer it puts you at the top of your game.
