Mezco Toyz One:12 NYCC Exclusive Marvel Wolverine Figure Review

Mezco Toyz NYCC Exclusive Wolverine
Those who were lucky enough to attend NYCC back in October have had this figure, but the rest of us have been patiently waiting for this blue and yellow tiger stripe Wolverine to ship out to us. Wolverine is by far my favorite super hero so I have been chomping at the bit to get him in hand to play with, pose, and photograph. Let's see how he stacks up!
Pros
  • Three head portraits (regular masked, angry masked, unmasked)
  • Mask of Ogun
  • Over 30 points of articulation
  • Eight interchangeable hands (clawed fists, regular fists, posing hands, and holding hands)
  • Excellent soft goods
  • Nice paint
  • Tons of accessories
Cons
  • Disappointed in the unmasked head. I am extremely picky when it comes to the feral Wolverine look. Something about the eyes and teeth just miss the mark for my tastes, but I am still glad they added it.
  • Some people have reported problems with the pants bunching on the left thigh. Some have also had problems with the crotch part of the pants on the figure not lining up due to the stitching.
Packaging
Wolverine comes in the new standard exclusive Mezco collector friendly box packaging that no longer includes artwork on the inside of the box. Mezco has changed it up a bit and started using smaller boxes for their exclusive figures, but I think both the smaller boxes and normal size boxes look great. Of course, since this is an exclusive it also has the Mezco exclusive sticker on it.
Figure
As I said earlier I love Wolverine and was psyched to get him. Mezco did not disappoint. This is by far the best Wolverine figure that has been made in this scale. In fact, it is right up there with my 1/6 Wolverine by Sideshow Collectibles. It's just a super fun figure to play with. His scowling masked face is my favorite one. They did a fantastic job with the claws which is something no other company can say at this scale. His shoulder pad, boots, and utility belt all look fantastic.

Overall
This Wolverine was definitely worth the extra wait, and I am ecstatic to own him. I can't wait to get the other two versions of Wolverine as well as Old Man Logan to put with him. Of course, I am biased due to my love for Wolverine, but this is my favorite Mezco One:12 figure they have made to date. If you were one of the lucky ones out there who was able to preorder-order this figure then enjoy! I really hope that Mezco continues on with the rest of the X-Men because I will buy them all.
